ETELÄKANKAAN ELÄINSUOJA
Eteläkankaan eläinsuoja is an animal shelter and sanctuary run by the association of the same name on a small private farm in Haukivuori, South Savo, Mikkeli, Finland.
The purpose of the association is to help animals (farm, domestic and pet) in need for various reasons, either by taking them into care at the shelter, providing a home for the rest of their lives or finding a suitable home.
Our aim is to provide a safe home, either a temporary home or a home for life, for an animal that would otherwise be in danger of death or otherwise inadequately cared for / without a suitable home.

The sanctuary farm is private, all visits by appointment only.
The shelter is not like a petting zoo, but visits are entirely on the animals’ terms.
